Rudraksha is considered as a holy bead possessing mystical and divine properties. It is a symbol of spirituality and mystic power. Mytholigically, it is related to Lord Shiva. There are various stories regarding the origin of Rudraksh in various Puranas. Ancient vedic scriptures like Shiva Purana, PadmaPurana (Chapter 57) Srimad Bagwata (Chapter III to VII ) Rudraksh Jabbalaoapanishad, Mantra Maharnava, etc. mentioned about the greatness and wonderful properties of Rudraksh beads. Rudraksha is nearly spherical in shape. Botanically it is known as Elaeocarpus Ganitrus Roxb. This holy bead has clefts on its surface which are called faces (mukhis). A Rudraksha beed may have many faces ranging from 1 to 38.

Rudraksh is combination of two words - 'RUDRA' and 'AKSHA'. Rudra is the name of Lord Shiva. Aksha means 'tear'. In 'Rudraksha Jabalopanishad ' Lord Shiva is saying to saint Bujandar that at the time of the universal deluge and catastrophe, my eyes were opened for thousand deva years (1 Deva Year is equal to our 365 yrs). In that period, the tears from my eyes dropped in some places of earth and produced Rudraksha trees. This is why, it is said that the seed of Rudraksh contains the secrets of entire evolution of the cosmos within it.

Rudraksha possesses electromagnetic power and it affects on spiritual, physical, mental and emotional level. Due to this very reason, Rudraksha Beads have been in use in India and other parts of world from ancient time for achieving well being on various levels. Its electromagnetic properties improve concentration and mental stamina. On wearing these beeds around the neck, feeling of calmness, peace & harmony comes within the wearer. It is so because Rudraksha is known for controlling and reducing stress levels, blood pressure, hypertension etc. Such properties of Rudrasha make it ideal for purifying thought process, focused meditation and other spiritual practices and rejuvenating human neuro physiology also.

As per the Vedic scriptures Rudraksha can nullify the effects of evil to a great extent. Rudraksha Beads are based in the Absolute Field of Consciousness and they manifest in the Relative Field for the good of all concerned to help in dissipation of sin and reduction of sufferings. Rudraksha of any mukhi (face) can never do any harm. The Rudraksha is worn for their specific benefits. These are much more powerful and can help achieve wonders, if energized and empowered through the right way.

Rudraksha is supposed to control heart beat and had a positive effect on Blood Pressure, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Palpitations and Lack of Concentration.
